Local Government Good Governance Monitor
LGGM is a project that aims to build the capacity of youths to advance efficient delivery of quality and inclusive public education and health by local governments in South-Eastern Nigeria.
Our Objectives
To build the capacity of 190 youths passionate about efficient delivery of quality and inclusive public health and education champion the LGGM in the South-Eastern region of Nigeria.
To inspire civic engagement by tracking and monitoring government delivery of public health and education at the LGA level
To ensure positive reinforcement of efficient delivery of quality and inclusive delivery of public health and education through performance evaluation and public recognition of best performing local governments.
Project Areas
The local government is the third tier of government in Nigeria. It is the closest government to the citizens and access point to government services.
The LGGM project, therefore, focuses its activities in all 95 Local Government Areas in the South Eastern part of Nigeria;

Open Society Initiative in West Africa (OSIWA) is the sole funder of CSAAE’s LGGM project in Southeastern Nigeria. OSIWA’s mission is to help build open societies in West Africa, where citizens enjoy the benefits of inclusive policies, good governance, vibrant democracies, transparency, accountability, equity and respect for the rule of law & fundamental human rights.
